Fired Lace

I’ve always been fascinated by the intricate patterns which come from the lacemaker’s art. But lace has a limited life. With these bowls and platters, I take lace which has often been discarded and use the patterns to embed into the surface of my clay. Combined with oxides, glazes and lustres, the lace patterns form an integral part of a very different artwork.
